it’s rainy. it’s cold. and the only thing that speaks to me is moloko.
the older i get the less interested and the less patience i have with people who don’t say much.
i’m currently into the ‘addicted’ category when it comes to watching ‘the real housewives of atlanta.’ and for all the wrong reasons. what i do like about it is that even though it is the proverbial reality show…thriving on drama (but what art/pop culture doesn’t?) i’m drawn in to how awesome their make-up looks and i loooove their clothes. lol.
also have a favorite, the awesomely talented kandi burruss, from the group xscape who (in my opinion) is the hinge of the show…also keeps me watching. she helped write tlc’s huge hit ‘no scrubs.’ wrote destiny’s child ‘bug a boo.’ wrote ‘there you go,’ one of pink’s first tracks and ‘can’t take me home.’ has written for mariah carey, alicia keys, boyz II men, nsync…usher, whitney houston. the girl is ill and interesting…it’s interesting to watch her cool…if you will.
a friend of mine is leaving. we had dinner yesterday. she’s leaving for thailand and has a fierce determination about actually changing lives, making a positive impact. her passion is exhilarating. and her maturity refreshing.
a lot of people are still riding this huge wave of hateration about kanye and taylor swift. you know what? kanye was actually right. he told taylor he was happy for her…and taylor’s dope. that is one talented girl…nothing nominated for that category surpassed beyonce’s ’single ladies.’ i do hate kanye did what he did…i believe he didn’t suspect the fallout. but i also have a great deal of suspicion…how did kanye get on stage? who let him? if you saw anybody coming up on stage after you have won your award…would you give them your mic? i wonder to what degree this was…not planned but…encouraged? maybe not to any degree…i’m just saying. if you ever win an award…someone’s coming on stage and is not apart of your career…don’t give them the mic. i still hate he did it…i wish he hadn’t…but i haven’t lost my love for him either. i have a much bigger disdain to those who are protesting health care reform. i have an even bigger disdain for rush limbaugh and glenn beck. let’s not get sidetracked here…nobody died when kanye ______? can’t think of anything? me, neither.
